Ariel saw Puck stumble as they ran through the forest, his
head crashing into a tree root as he went down. Fortunately the leaves and
other undergrowth covered him from their pursuers, and she ducked down behind a
nearby bush to hide too.
When she was sure they had passed, she crawled over to Puck,
her heart now beating from fear for his life, rather than their pursuit. His
eyes were still closed, and she could see the blood trickling from the cut in
his head as she moved her hands over it, hovering just above like her
grandmother had taught her.
The light glowed immediately and she felt it run through
her; hopefully he would come round soon and they could find a safer journey
home.
It's an amazing story, I love it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like part of a bigger story! Which you should share, of course!
ReplyDeleteThanks - it could be....I would have to think about it - A LOT! I do snippets of fantasy well, but not so great on expanding!

ReplyDeleteKeen to see who they're being chased by! Yep, definitely part of a bigger story, Miranda! x
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa. I had no thought in my head about 'who' their pursuers were LOL - that's why I love snippets! ;)
